Made from compressed porcelain, hand-painted and glass glazed white with blue-grey base.
Marked "Wade England" in relief on base.
Unlike the standard Red Rose Tea Whimsie inserts, the Whoppas were slightly larger and available in Canada only by sending $1 plus a tab from Red Rose Tea. There were 3 series of 5 animals each. The polor bear is from the First Series of Whoppas. All Whoppas were short-lived production items and are hard-to-find in perfect condition.
