Master Artisan Zhao Huimin was born in 1919 into a very poor home. There was no money for art lessons so he worked very hard at his chores daily and at night by candlelight, taught himself to paint in the traditional watercolours. He enjoyed painting beautiful women and over the years his works and artistic skills became known. He was awarded the honour and title of Porcelain Painter in 1958 and was acclaimed "Master Artisan" in 1983.
