The model shown here is an original item in perfect condition - 4" x 3 1/4" x 1 3/8".

The Scottie was just one model of a large collection of Pressed Glass candy containers during the War and post War period.
Each container was filled with small hard candies and the base sealed with cardboard. Children would enjoy the candies and still have a toy.
Available at the "Five and Dime" stores everywhere in North America and a favourite small gift for children.
Figural Glass candy containers included a bulldog, jack rabbit, locomotive, cars, telephone, pistol, flat iron, gas pump, lamps and lanterns, radio, clock, Santa's boot and many others.
Beware of reproductions! The Scottie Dog has been reproduced and bears the word "Taiwan" on the inside.
